Recognizing those who make a difference - CDC FCU teams with Atlanta Business Chronicle for the Health Care Heroes Awards

Posted in Beyond Finances on February 4, 2019

For about 70 years now, CDC Federal Credit Union has been the financial institution for members in the health-life science sector providing members with exemplary service. But as a credit union, we also recognize that it’s the members who have kept the institution strong and is the backbone of the organization. Because of this, CDC Federal Credit Union wanted to find a unique and special way to recognize some of those people in the health-life science industry who have made a difference in the field and in the lives of so many others.

For this opportunity, the credit union teamed up with the Atlanta Business Chronicle to sponsor the 2019 Health-Care Heroes Awards. The awards will honor heroes in the health care industry who have demonstrated excellence, and through that excellence, have made and continue to make a difference in their chosen field. The seven categories include: Allied Health Professional (an individual working in an ancillary profession), Nurse, Community Outreach, Rising Star, Health-Care Innovator/Researcher, Physician/Physician Practice Group, and Lifetime Achievement.

Andy Anderson, vice president of marketing and member engagement at CDC Federal Credit Union, said it is only fitting that we align ourselves with the awards as a tangible way to honor the members we serve. “When others are running away from diseases and epidemics, many of our members are running right into the middle of it – ground zero,” Anderson said. “We’re here to make a difference to those who are out there doing the real work of saving lives and making a difference where it matters most.”

Nominations are now open for the Health-Care Heroes Awards. The deadline for submissions is March 15 and the event will end with a celebration in May 2019. For more details, click here.
